What happened with the Anubis Collection Package?
On December 15th, 2025, the
Anubis collection package was removed from the in-game store, meaning that it is no longer available for purchase, and the new supply of these skins has been cut short. Valve did not announce the removal, and the community began thinking about what was next.
Why did the Anubis Collection Package get removed?
Initially, the
Anubis package got added to the in-game store because Valve had no other way to introduce the new map’s Anubis skins to the player. Valve experimented and released a package directly into the store at a fixed price.
Previously, map-specific collections were introduced through operations and, most recently, through the Armory Pass, but when the Anubis package was released, neither option was available.
The removal itself is unclear. In one way, it is believed that Valve doesn’t want to make any more new package releases like this one, and the Anubis package already received all the attention from being in the store for 2.5 years. Moving forward, skin collections for new maps will most likely get released on the Armory Pass.
What was the impact of the Anubis package removal?
The price of the package instantly shot up from 1.65 EUR to 6 EUR in the Steam Market, and the
package’s skins followed the same trend.
The highest rarity skin of the package, M4A1 | Eye of Horus, shot up 2x in price on
CS2 marketplaces, reaching the All-Time-High price when the skin was initially released. Since then, prices slightly dropped, but because there will be no new supply, prices are expected to climb back up and reach new heights slowly.
What did we learn and what is next?
This seems to be a one-off, since we never saw a skin collection added to the store. Players who suspected this couldn’t last forever managed to turn a profit, but would we see something like this again in the future? Very unlikely, new collections will most likely go into Armory Pass for an undefined time. which still leaves an opportunity to grab skins that will eventually leave Armory Pass, but players are now more aware than ever and will expect another phasing out from Valve.
