Counter-Strike 2 Case Opening odds

The odds of unboxing each item from a CS2 case

Topic: Case odds and percentage in Counter-Strike 2 in 2026

In this article, we are going to be taking a look at case odds when you open a weaponcase in Counter-Strike 2. We go over the odds and percentages of normal items, and of StatTrak items, as well as explain you the math behind it. These odds are the same for any and all Counter-Strike cases. Be it weaponcases or glovecases. The CS2 Collections, as well as Souvenir Packages from events or majors, have different odds and percentages. Opening cases, even though it is in-game, is still a form of gambling. Only open cases if you can stomach losing the money. Now lets talk about the odds of CS2 cases in 2026!

Case odds in CS2 for items

Here are the odds of getting the items in each rarity from opening a Counter-Strike 2 case.

These odds total 100%, as every item in the case has a certain percentage, totalling up to 100% for the whole case (to make one full case). Opening a case gets you roughly 4 in 5 that are Mil-Spec, and only ONE in 385, you can statistically expect a rare special item. Even though there is no such thing as "can expect" in probability. If you open 385 cases, though, no gold is guaranteed! Sadly, probability calculation and stochastic do not work on absolutes.

Potentially, you could open 300 Mil-Spec skins in a row, and this would, statistically speaking, be super rare! The possibility of back-to-back Golds, or Rare Special Items, also exists, but this is super rare. More on that later.

The percentage and odds for CS2 cases

Here are the odds for unboxing each item if you open Counter-Strike 2 Case. Just divide 100 by the expected odds to see the math behind it:
  • Mil-Spec Grade (Blue) 79,92%
  • Restricted (Purple) 15,98%
  • Classified (Pink) 3,2%
  • Covert (Red) 0,64%
  • Exceedingly Rare / Rare special item (Gold) 0,26%

This translates statistically to:
  • Blue 79,92% -> 100 : 79,92 = 1,25 = 4 in 5
  • Purple 15,98% -> 100 : 15,98 = 6,3 = 1 in 6
  • Pink 3,2% -> 100 : 3,2 = 31,3 = 1 in 31
  • Red 0,64% -> 100 : 0,64 = 156,3 = 1 in 156
  • Gold 0,26% ->100 : 0,26 = 384,6 = 1 in 385

The percentage and odds in CS2 for StatTrak™ items

To get a StatTrak item from a CS2 case, you have a chance of roughly 10%. Getting a StatTrak pink is almost as rare as a normal Knife.

  • Mil-Spec Grade (Blue): 7.9%
  • Restricted (Purple): 1.5%
  • Classified (Pink): 0.32%
  • Covert (Red): 0.064%
  • Exceedingly Rare (Gold): 0.026%

The odds for a back to back Gold!

One of the rarest events that can happen when you open Counter-Strike 2 Cases is the back-to-back Gold! This means that you unboxed a Rare Special Item, such as a Knife or Gloves, right after each other.

The odds for this are 0,26 times 0,26, rounded up, the percentage of hitting a back-to-back gold are incredibly low, around 0,000676%! This is roughly 1 to 148.000!
