What is the CS.MONEY CS2 tournament about?

The event features 22 teams in a 5v5 format, but not all teams start in the same stage.

Qualifier phase Teams seeded 15–22 start in a qualifier bracket:
  • Quarter-finals → BO1
  • Semi-finals → BO1
The two teams that win these matches move on to the Round of 16.

Main bracket Once the qualifiers are done, the main tournament begins:
  • Round of 16: BO1
  • Quarter-finals: BO1
  • Semi-finals: BO1
  • 3rd place match: BO1
  • Grand Final: BO3
So early rounds are fast and decisive, making it interesting for the players and viewers. The grand final is logically played in a BO3, hopefully making it a nail biting decider and a great Sunday evening for everyone watching. More on the schedule right below.

What’s the full schedule?

The tournament runs across four days with fixed match times. Thursday 6 p.m. CET: Qualifier matches 10 p.m. CET: Qualifier semi-final

Friday 6 p.m. CET: Final qualifier match 7-10 p.m. CET: Round of 16 (first matches) Saturday 3-6 p.m. CET: Round of 16 (remaining matches) 7-10 p.m. CET: Quarter-finals Sunday 5 p.m. CET: Semi-final 1 6 p.m. CET: Semi-final 2 7 p.m. CET: 3rd place match 8 p.m. CET: Grand Final (BO3)

What maps are played?

The tournament uses a standard competitive map pool:
  • Mirage
  • Anubis
  • Dust2
  • Ancient
  • Nuke
  • Overpass
No excuses that you don’t know the callouts or where to peek - we are playing on familiar grounds. Be prepared to deliver.

How do matches work?

All matches are played on Xplay servers, which are selected based on both teams’ preferences.

Map selection follows a standard veto system:
  • Coin flip decides order
  • Teams alternate bans and picks
A few rules that matter the most:
  • All 5 players must be ready within 10 minutes
  • No-show means a default loss
  • Each team has 10 minutes of technical pause per map
  • Rosters are fixed — no substitutions

What can you win?

The total prize pool is $4,000, provided by CS.MONEY.
  • 1st place: USD 2,000
  • 2nd place: USD 1,000 3rd place: USD 500 4th place: USD 150
The prize is split equally among all players on the team.

Viewer giveaways

CS.MONEY is also running USD 350 in skin giveaways during the livestream. These happen between matches and maps on all days, and viewers can join directly via Twitch chat.

Where can you watch it?

The entire tournament will be streamed live on the official CS.MONEY Twitch channel.

Some hard facts for the broadcast:
  • 60-second delay (to prevent stream sniping)
  • Stream sniping in general is strictly prohibited, and measures will be taken if suspicious activity is detected
  • Live giveaways
  • Full coverage of the event

What is the skin progression mode?

One interesting optional feature in this tournament is the Skin Progression mode.

If players enable it:
  • Every 3 kills upgrades their loadout
  • Weapons, knives, and gloves evolve together
  • Progress resets each map
The skin progression mode doesn’t impact gameplay in any way and is purely visual, but it adds a nice progression aspect during matches with upgraded skins, gloves, knifes. We absolutely love seeing such detail when talking about a community event. Is someone gonna end up with 30 kills and a ruby? Time will tell.

Hard facts (match settings & rules)

Now that we’ve covered the structure and format, let’s take a quick look at the most important in-game settings and rules.

Matches are played in an MR12 format (first to 13 rounds) with a round time of 1:55, USD 800 starting money, 20-second freeze time, and a 40-second bomb timer. If the match is tied after 24 rounds, it goes into overtime (BO6) with USD 16,000 starting money, and this continues until a winner is found. Each team has 3 tactical timeouts per map (30 seconds each), and admins can call additional pauses if needed. Communication:
  • In-game chat is only for match-related messages
  • No advertising or unnecessary discussion
When it comes to setups:
  • Only basic scripts like buy or toggle scripts are allowed
  • No external software that gives any kind of advantage
  • No custom game files or modifications
Bug usage:
  • Exploits and glitches are strictly forbidden
  • Some known mechanics (like certain defuses or movement behavior) are allowed
  • Final decisions are always made by tournament admins
If a match gets interrupted:
  • Players must immediately call “not live”
  • Depending on the situation, rounds are either restored or continue
    • Player mistakes (like misbuys) never result in a replay
One important detail:
  • Agent skins are not allowed
  • Weapon skins and Xplay skin systems are allowed
