How can I earn in-game drops?
To earn in-game drops in CS2, you simply need a CS2 Prime profile.
This is achieved by buying Counter-Strike 2 on Steam.
Next up, you need to grind levels!
This means you have to level up during the time of your weekly drop.
It can simply be finishing the rest of a level or grinding up a full level.
As long as you “finish” your level during your weekly drop, you receive the reward. And with that, a chance to get one of four items.
The CS2 Weekly care package
A new addition to Counter-Strike 2 was the weekly care package drop system. Instead of getting seemingly random drops and only one of them (like it was in CS:GO), you now get a drop reward each week that you level up your CS2 account, if the Weekly care package is activated. You will get only one drop, but you have the chance to choose between four different items, and you can select two of them to redeem.
Items in the Active drop pool
For the most part, you have the chance to get either Graffiti, Skin, Case or Charm Detachment Pack or the newly released Sealed Genesis Terminal. Most of the time you will get a Skin, a Case (or Sealed Genesis Terminal), and up to two Graffitis, one of them often being a Charm Detachment Pack instead of a Graffiti. This does not mean that you will always get two graffiti, as you can also sometimes choose between two skins.
Most of these items are counted as normal; there will be a few outliers like skins with a high rarity, but mostly it will be more average or low-tier items and cases.
There are also rare drop variants, meaning you have the chance to get even older skins, or some rare and elusive cases, which do not drop normally anymore. There might be a chance to even get some of Counter-Strike's oldest weapon cases, which we call the “Rare drop pool”.
Rare drop pool
The Rare drop pool is filled with rare items. The chance to get an item from the rare drop pool, such as old collection skins or old weapon cases, is very small. Players think it might be as little as 1%!
Getting a rare item in itself is special, but getting a very old and expensive item, even more so!
The highest drop skins you can get, such as Classified skins, belong in this category.
But also, really rare discontinued cases, such as old operation cases, can be acquired through this scarce opportunity.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading our little guide about the CS2 Weekly care package and the Counter-Strike 2 drop system. We hope that you learned all about CS2 in-game drops, the rare drop pool, and anything else about what the Weekly care package and the items that drop in Counter-Strike 2.
