Trading up to Knives and Gloves in Counter-Strike 2

Trading up to a cool knife or a nice pair of gloves in CS2 is really straightforward. You simply need 5 Cover, which means “Red” rarity skins, from any CS2 Case collection. This can be a CS2 Weapon Case or a CS2 Glove Case collection.

It is very important to note that you CAN NOT trade-up skins from Operation or Drop collections! This means you can not trade up skins from stuff like the Anubis, Sports and Fields, or even Cobblestone. You are only able to trade-up skins from Case collections, as they have a “Gold rarity” item, such as the aforementioned Knive or Glove skins.

How do I craft Knife or Glove skins in CS2?

If you have selected 5 Red skins from a collection of your liking, simply go to your inventory, click right on a red skin “Use with trade-up contract” and fill in the other four red skins you would like to trade-up. Keep in mind the Golds you want to hunt, if you want to risk your covert skins in a trade-up. To craft the Knives, you simply click “proceed” in the bottom right of your screen. And then you hope for the best!

You have the chance to get Golds from any of the five skins you input. You can get a higher chance on a specific collection if you add more Covert skins from the collection that you want to hit. With that, be aware that the chances of getting the knife/glove you want to trade up to differ first in how many different items you put in terms of collections, and secondly, how many of these items from each collection you put in.

How to calculate the outputs of a knife/glove trade-up?

In order to see what outputs are available as well as the odds for each output you can use sites like CS2Locker, where you select five red skins on the left side of the page and see the potential outcome on the right, as showcased in the picture below.

In this case, we selected five AK-47 Legion of Anubis, resulting in a 100% chance of a Fracture Case knife/glove—in that case, knives, as there are no gloves in the Fracture Case. On the right side, you can now see the percentage for each specific knife - exactly 1.92% over a total of 52 possible outcomes, which you can see by scrolling down the right side of the page.

This is not financial advice. We are merely telling you how you can trade up. Do not spend more money than you can afford, and chasing a “dream” of something as rare as a Blue gem is always a very bad financial idea.
