A New Collection Built with Community Contributions

The Dead Hand Collection introduces 17 weapon finishes created by community artists, continuing the long-standing tradition of integrating player-designed skins into the game. Community skins have become a staple of Counter-Strike, allowing talented creators to contribute directly to the game.

These finishes feature designs which align with the asian themes we mentioned earlier. As with previous collections, the skin of higher rarity are more unique and flashy.

22 All-New Gloves Added as Rare Special Items

Alongside the weapon finishes, the update also introduces 22 completely new gloves. This is the first time gloves were added to CS2 since the “Revolution Case” (10 February 2023). These gloves appear as rare special items, making them among the most wanted rewards from the collection.

Valve describes them as being designed to “add style to your highlight reel,” reinforcing the cosmetic focus of the update. Gloves in Counter-Strike have historically been high-value items due to their rarity and visibility in first-person gameplay, and the new additions are expected to attract strong interest from collectors and traders. Many die-hard fans and players think that this was a deliberate move by Valve to fight against the high prices of high-tier gloves, and introduce 1) way more gloves and 2) more budget-friendly gloves.

How Players Can Obtain Dead Hand Collection Items

Players eager to obtain items from the new collection can do so through Dead Hand Terminals. These terminals have been added to the game and can appear as possible weekly drops, giving players a chance to receive items from the collection simply by playing. The release comes as a surprise, especially with the X-Ray Scanner function coming to germany soon- it seems that Valve wants to step away from normal cases and lead the playerbase towards “terminals” as a loophole to the anti-gambling laws.

The CS2 terminals also previously did NOT (!) feature Gold items (Rare Special Items such as Knives or Gloves). Valve is once again updating existing features to align with the law.
