Are there "risk free" trade ups in CS2?
Topic: No Risk Trade Ups in CS2 - How to find them!
By clicking on this blog post, I’ll assume you already know what a trade-up is in Counter-Strike 2. But for those who don’t, here’s a quick recap: In CS2, players can trade 10 skins of the same rarity for 1 skin of the next higher rarity. For example, 10 Mil-Spec (blue) items can be exchanged for 1 Restricted (purple) item.
What makes trade-ups exciting is that not all outcomes are equally valuable. Sometimes, depending on the inputs you use, your outcome could be worth significantly more than what you spent. The CS2 market is constantly changing, which means new profitable trade-ups are always emerging.
That’s where my website, TradeUpLab, comes in. Powered by a continuously running algorithm, it analyses market prices and identifies the most profitable combinations for users. If you want to dive into the math and formulas behind trade-ups, I covered that in my first blog post with EsportFire. Today, we’ll go one step further:
Do Zero Risk Trade Ups Exist?
Typically, these are harder to find the inputs for and don't tend to last long due to how dynamic the market is. Either the outcome skins drop in price or, more commonly, the input items increase in value. From what I have seen, it’s typically 10 x Mil-Specs from a single collection, which provide the 100% profitable trade-ups. Here are a few recent examples:
Profitable Trade Ups in CS2
So, do no-risk trade-ups exist? Yes, but they are rare and require quick action and an element of luck. Most players will find much better, long-term success by focusing on low-risk, high expected value (EV+) trade-ups.
