CS2 Weapon Charm Guide: The complete and ultimate Guide to Counter-Strike 2’s Weapon Charms

Topic: Guide to all CS2 Weapon Charms and Patterns

With the release of the Armory update, Counter-Strike 2 introduced one of its most significant cosmetic features in years: weapon charms. These small accessories have quickly become a major part of the game’s customisation system, offering players a fresh way to personalise their loadouts beyond just skins and stickers.

Nowadays, no craft is complete without the perfect matching charm. Or a Sticker slab to effectively have a six-sticker craft in CS2. Charms are the new way to finish and personalise your CS2 loadout and crafts.

In our ultimate guide about Counter-Strike 2 weapon charms, we will explain what weapon charms are, how to get weapon charms in CS2, showcase and talk about all weapon charm collections and their individual patterns (yes all weapon charm patterns in CS2!), showcase rare and expensive charms, tell you how to apply/remove charms and talk about the possible future of weapon charms in the world of CS!

What Are CS2 Weapon Charms?

Weapon charms in CS2 are decorative 3D items that attach to your weapons, functioning like keychains that hang and move dynamically as you play. Unlike traditional cosmetics:
  • They are fully 3D models with physics (they swing and bounce while moving)
    • They COULD affect gameplay (as in block vision), be mindful where you place them.
    • Only one charm can be equipped per weapon
    • They can be removed and reused (with limitations)
This makes charms a hybrid between skins and stickers - combining visual flair with flexibility thanks to their actual model.

    A New Era of Customisation

For years, CS players relied on skins, stickers, and nametags to customise weapons. Charms change that by adding:
    • Motion and depth (thanks to physics-based animation)
    • Greater personalisation (placement freedom)
    • A collectable system with patterns and rarity

Players can even place charms anywhere on a weapon, where the player model or their hands do not obscure them. Allowing for creative combinations of stickers, charms and weapon skins that weren’t possible before.

This added a new dimension to customisation and personalisation to your Counter-Strike 2 loadout!

    How to Get Weapon Charms

Charms were introduced through the Armory, where players can unlock them after getting enough stars in the Armory-pass. For 3-Stars, you can redeem one charm, and redeeming them works like a traditional case/capsule. Charms come in all different types of rarities, and there are special charms such as the Souvenir Highlight Charm or the Sticker Slab charm, but more on them later.

You can also buy Charms from marketplaces, like the Steam Community market, or other third-party sites - check out our Skindatabase to see where you can buy the cheapest charms for your CS2 weapons!

Each charm initially comes with limited free detachments, after which additional uses may require a paid item, the "Charm Detachment". More on that near the end of our charm guide.

    Charm Collections in CS2

There is a slight difference in where to acquire charms in CS2. We had a total of four charm collections in the Armory-Pass and two charm collections, if you want to call them that, which were acquired differently. More on them later. The following four collections are redeemable in the Armory if you have the Armory-pass. All charms mentioned here come in a total of 100.000 patterns. We will showcase the full collections, their individual patterns and later talk about the rarest, most sought-after and most expensive CS2 weapon charms.

    Charm Patterns and Templates Explained

Just like skins, charms use a pattern system called "templates" that affect their appearance and looks.

A lot of charms differ vastly from pattern to pattern. Pattern ID values can range up to 100,000 variations. Small differences may be subtle, but extreme values can drastically change colours.

Certain patterns are considered rare or "overpay" in the trading market Examples of desirable patterns and rare charms:
    • Pure gold weapon charm patterns
    • A lower pattern ID is often (but not always) more expensive
    • "Gem"-like colour variations (Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald…)
    • Wild holographic or pearlescent effects
This system adds a market and collector dimension, similar to rare skin patterns, but for charms. Now, let us take a look at the other two charm series we have in Counter-Strike 2, the sealed sticker slab charms and the Souvenir Highlight charms.

The rarest and most expensive CS2 weapon charms

Here is our list of some of the rarest and most expensive CS2 charms. A lot of these charms are high in rarity, but also very unique in their patterns. As we previously mentioned, CS2 weapon charms differ greatly from a low pattern to a high Pattern ID (Template). We will show you the most expensive charms in Counter-Strike 2 with their lowest and their highest (and often the most expensive) patterns!

    Charm | Lil' Boo

Charm | Lil' Boo. The pearlescent ghost is quite beloved and sought after, with higher patterns having an even crazier holographic pearlescent effect. The most expensive pattern is pattern 100.000. This charm and its colour scheme and effects are based on the vastly popular Printstream-collection, which is already one of the most popular skin series in Counter-Strike 2. It comes as no surprise that the default version of this charm comes in at already above 100 USD.

    Charm | Butane Buddy

Charm | Butane Buddy. This lenticular charm with liquid inside is also quite popular. It comes in many different colours and also with varying amounts of liquids. These vary way more than other charms, as not only do they change vastly in colour, but they have similar physics to the Molotov liquid shader ingame! The Butane Buddy can change drastically from pattern to pattern. This charm comes in Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and Pink. Blue, Cyan and Purple are among the top ones for this charm. In this picture we showcase NOT Pattern 1 vs. 100.000, but the lowest pattern and liquid fill, and we compare it to the highest full liquid pattern.

    Charm | Hot Howl

Charm | Hot Howl. The speciality of the Hot Howl charm is its glitter effect. Here, one if not the best possible pattern, is the maximum yellow 100.000. The lower your pattern ID, the less advanced and sparkly the glitter effect is; that is what many players are searching Hot Howl with a high pattern ID. And you can see why if you just compare pattern 1 and pattern 100.000! Wow!

    Sticker Slab charm

Sticker Slabs (or “sealed slabs”) are cheap items (~€0.45) you can buy in-game. They let you turn any Counter-Strike 2 sticker into a wearable 3D charm instead of a normal 2D cosmetic. The “CS2 Sticker charm” does not have a formal collection, as you can put every applicable Sticker in Counter-Strike 2 into a sealed slab sticker charm!

The process is simple: buy a Sticker Slab, pick any sticker from your inventory, and seal it. The result is a “Sticker Slab charm” that can be attached to weapons like any other charm. All of these charms are the same; the only thing that changes is the sticker inside, the border (with rarity) and the Name and item ID on the slab.

Why not flex with a rare Katowice 2014 holo sticker? Or add a sealed sticker slab charm with a missing sticker to a fully crafted gun? Or do you just want to have your favourite chicken sticker in a sticker slab charm? The sticker slab charm is letting players use favourite or rare stickers in a new way, and all without fully committing to a craft and "spending" the sticker. You can also freely apply, remove, or open the slab to get your sticker back - just note there may be a trade cooldown.

    Souvenir Charm Highlight

Souvenir Highlight Charms were introduced in Counter-Strike 2 during the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major as part of the "Capture the Moment" update, bringing a completely new concept to the gaming world.

Unlike regular charms, these items store real in-game highlights from professional matches! Each charm is tied to a specific moment - such as an ace, clutch, or crowd reaction - sometimes also big fails. These clips can be viewed directly in-game. This turns them into more than just cosmetics; they act as collectable pieces of esports history. And you can apply them to your weapons as well. All of these charms are in the form of military dog tags.

Players obtained them through Souvenir Highlight Packages, which you either buy with the viewer pass or if you complete a "Pick-Em" coin stage during the Major. The Souvenir Highlight charms are only in Souvenir Packages for the play-off stage. When opened, these packages awarded a souvenir weapon along with an assigned highlight charm for the match. The charm could then be detached and used on any weapon, adding both personalisation and meaning. Currently, we have only two different Souvenir Highlight Charms, the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major and the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025. The Cologne Major, Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major 2026, will most likely be the third time we will see Souvenir Highlight charms.

By combining cosmetics with real competitive moments, Highlight Charms represent one of CS2’s most unique innovations - blending gameplay memories, esports, and item collecting into a single system.

    Why buy CS2 Weapon Charms?

Charms represent more than just cosmetic additions - they reflect a shift in CS2’s design philosophy. Previously, Valve seemed to want to stop expensive patterns and pattern-based skins, but with the introduction of charms, as well as their 100,000 patterns, Valve knew that this would create some super-rare charms that would be sought after by collectors and traders.
    • More expressive loadouts
    • Deeper item economy
    • Increased personalization
They also appeal to both casual players (fun designs) and collectors (rare patterns and value speculation). No craft is now complete without a new and flashy weapon charm. And especially not without a rare charm that fits your gun, either aesthetically or colour-wise. Charms offer you a new dimension to customise your Counter-Strike 2 skin, and to personalise your inventory. Make your loadout truly a one-of-a-kind loadout.

How to Attach and Use Charms

Equipping a charm in Counter-Strike 2 is quite simple:
      1. Open your inventory
      2. Select a charm
      3. Choose "Attach Charm"
      4. Place it anywhere on the weapon

You can rotate and preview placement before confirming, giving you full control over the final look.

    How to remove charms

If you get a weapon charm from the Armory-pass you are also gifted three "Charm Detachment" packs. You can also buy these directly from the CS2 in-game store for 0.89€.

These packs can be used to remove the charm from guns and place them somewhere else or on different guns entirely. These "Charm Detachment" items are a one-time use- meaning after you remove a charm, you will lose one of your charges for this new tool. But the charm itself stays in your inventory, and it does not have any "wear".

    The Future of CS2 Charms

Charms are still relatively new, and their potential is far from fully explored. Future updates may include new community-made charm collections, Event-exclusive charms or tournament charms. We can not wait for the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major 2026 Souvenir Highlight weapon charms Perhaps we might even get "Team Charms" soon, so that you could represent your favourite Counter-Strike 2 eSports Team on your gun and in-game.

Given their popularity and flexibility, charms are likely to become a core part of CS2’s cosmetic identity moving forward.

    Conclusion

Thank you for reading our ultimate and complete guide about all CS2 weapon charms! We hope this gave you a quick overview on charm patterns in Counter-Strike 2, and all of the different charm collections that we have. The charms mark a major evolution in how players customise their weapons. By combining 3D design, physics, and pattern systems, they offer a level of personalisation never seen before in Counter-Strike. We see a lot of crafts being topped off and perfected with charms. Such as including matching colour combinations, or adding another Sealed Sticker charm on a gun which already has 5 stickers.

In many games, charms come in a predestined position, such as Valorant or Rainbow Six Siege. We hope you have learned about your new gun buddies, weapon charms, and sticker charms. Lots of video games have had them before Counter-Strike 2, but in a true Valve fashion, it is quite an innovation to place the charms everywhere where you want, giving the player a whole new way of customising.

Whether you’re a collector chasing rare patterns on charms, putting a Titan Holo Katowice 2014 in your Sticker Slab, or a casual player looking to add just a little bit more personality to your loadout, charms bring a fresh layer of creativity to the game. And they are definitely here to stay.
