Astralis - Latest performance & results
Astralis, multiple Major-Champion, Danish top-team, figurehead of the CS:GO scene, also enters the new season as the favorite for the very big titles. The team won the last tournament in December after a difficult year and in this match between Astralis and Evil Geniuses the odds are clearly in favor of the Danish favorite.
Even though Astralis was able to overcome a last year marked by health problems and finally reached the top of the world again with a victory at the Intel Extreme Masters, they did not have their usual consistency back at the end of last year. Nevertheless, the team managed to integrate a sixth player into their lineup with Bubzkji and successfully implement this project as the second team after Vitality at the top of the world.
The last duel between the two teams was some time ago and all in all Astralis had very successful weeks at the end of last year and won most of their games. Individually, device was convincing as usual, being a reliable factor for the team year after year.
Evil Geniuses - Latest performance & results
The American traditional organization Evil Geniuses was already founded in 1999 and entered CS:GO again in 2019. With the signing of the then NRG roster, the organization celebrated great success early on. However, 2020 was particularly challenging. Due to the online phase, the team was mainly represented in American tournaments and hardly got any chances to compete against the world's best.
The few European tournaments were also not very satisfying and due to travel problems in December for the final tournaments, the last official match was already a while ago. On 21.11. they played against Chaos at the IEM Beijing and lost the semifinals in this encounter.
Even though the betting odds are clearly against the American lineup in the duel with Astralis, it is very difficult to estimate them. The team has been a constant factor at the top of the world in recent years and will have used the time off to prepare well for the new season.
Astralis vs. Evil Geniuses - Map-Veto prediction
The map veto is also difficult to assess in this game. Astralis traditionally always bans Mirage and likes to pick Nuke. However, especially on Inferno the Danes were able to shine before the break and also Dust2 they tried more and more and sometimes showed solid games.
Astralis vs. Evil Geniuses - Prediction
A match between two world-class teams with clear omens. Is Astralis the clear favorite? Probably. However, it is doubtful whether odds of up to 4 on the underdog are justified in the duel between Astralis and Evil Geniuses. The bet regarding the winner is clearly on the Danes, but betting on odds of around 1.2 are absolutely not recommended, especially after a long break.
