Nexus - Latest performance & results
Nexus was founded in 2015 and plays in numerous Tier-2 events. The Romanian organisation around IGL BTN and long-term member XELLOW has strengthened again in 2020 with two new players. The biggest accomplishment for the team was a win at Betano Masters Europe Season 1.
At the Vulkan Lan the team had some luck in the first round, in NAVI Juniors B1T, who was still in stake in the first team, was missing. Thus Nexus managed a 2:0 success in the duel with the Ukrainians. While the team defeated ex-ETHEREAL on the second matchday, Nexus lost on the way to a 3-0 result against Sinners.
The Czechs showed them their limits and clearly defeated the team on Inferno and Dust2. Between Nexus and MBAPPEEK, the odds clearly favour the team around IGL BTN.
MBAPPEEK - Latest performance & results
MBAPPEEK is a rather unknown Bulgarian organisation, which entered the first B-Tier tournaments in September 2020. They were ranked mid-table at the Nine to Five 6 last month and are still having problems getting tournament invitations. However, the Vulkan Fight Series is going quite well so far. With two wins out of the first two days of play, the team had three chances to lock up advancement to the playoffs. They failed to do so in their first attempt against HellRaisers exactly a week ago. In view of the betting odds, MBAPPEEK is a clear underdog against Nexus. This is also due to the fact that the two teams played each other about a month ago and Nexus was able to decide that duel clearly in their favour.
Nexus vs. MBAPPEEK - Map-Veto prediction
Due to the few appearances of MBAPPEEK, we know little about their entire map pool. What has emerged is a particular strength on Train and a relatively great weakness on Dust2.
In this duel, it is difficult to predict the maps well due to the limited experience. A pick on Train by the Bulgarians is likely, but Nexus could also ban it. On the other hand, MBAPPEEK knows about their weakness on Dust2 and will have prepared this map especially or even ban it.
Between Nexus and MBAPPEEK is the tip regarding the maps on Train and Dust2. As the decider, Mirage would be the obvious choice.
Nexus vs. MBAPPEEK - Prediction
Between Nexus and MBAPPEEK, we don't see the odds-on favourite as much of an advantage. The team has more experience and has delivered quite well so far, but MBAPPEEK is a new team that could certainly be good for a surprise. The odds are tempting to take some risks in this duel.
