IEM Cologne 2026 Update for CS2

The long-awaited IEM Cologne 2026 Major is coming to the legendary LANXESS Arena, and Valve just opened the floodgates for Tournament Items. Here’s everything new in today’s update: Valve has just released the official Tournament Items for the IEM Cologne 2026 Major. That means brand new Team and Autograph Stickers, a massively improved and enhanced CS2 Major Shop, and the return of the Pick’Em Challenge.

The "Cathedral of Counter-Strike" is getting ready for its next big spectacle, and the community can already start stacking exclusive items.

The New Major Shop - No More Capsules

The biggest change to how Major-passes and items now work: Valve has largely ditched the old capsule system. This has to be a direct influence from the X-ray update, which banned buying capsules from the official Steam community market. Instead of opening random Sticker Capsules, you can now buy the exact stickers you want directly.

  • Prices are determined dynamically by real demand
  • Popular stickers (like Holo FURIA or Gold Donk) will be more expensive, while less popular ones will be cheaper
  • Price Protection: If the price of a sticker you bought drops more than 25 Tokens within 24 hours, you’ll automatically receive the difference back
You purchase Tokens and then redeem them for the stickers you actually want. The system aims to reflect genuine demand while reducing frustrating random purchases. You can now select and buy stickers from the team you want directly.

Souvenir-O-Matic - Craft Your Own Souvenirs

The biggest and most interesting change is the new feature, the Souvenir-O-Matic

Take any normal or already Souvenir weapon from your inventory, choose a completed match and a player from that match, and create your personal Souvenir with golden Team, Autograph, and Map stickers. This works with Souvenir Items but also normal case and previous-non souvenir items! You can now get Souvenir on weapons that are not even from Souvenir Collections, but rather from Case Collections.

We are sure this will make for some interesting combos and very unique skins seen on the server. But also most likely crash the price for any Souvenir skin, as your Dragon Lore or your Imminent Danger can now be turned from a normal skin into a souvenir skin!

Existing stickers on the weapon will be removed and you will get a full preview before confirming your change in the "Souvenir-O-Matic". These Prices, according to Valve, are based on the sticker demand and weapon rarity.

Trad-Up Souvenir skins

Another HUGE change is that you can now put Souvenir weapons into a trade-up! Yes, you heard right: you can now Trade up Souvenir weapons in Counter-Strike 2. We do not know if the outcome will also be a Souvenir item, if that is based on how many Souvenir skins you input, but non-Souvenir normal skins can be used in Trade-ups with Souvenir skins.

This change is huge and will likely affect the prices of many Souvenir items, as they can now be used to trade up for rare and elusive skins from old and rare collections.

Pick’Em Challenge & Viewer Pass

As usual, there’s a Viewer Pass with a Challenge Coin and a Pick’Em Challenge. The better you perform and predict the outcome of the Matches in Pick’Em, the higher your coin levels go. We start in Bronze, then Silver, then Gold and lastly the elusive IEM Cologne 2026 Diamond Pick’Em Coin, and the more Tokens you earn as rewards.

You can also equip your favourite team’s graffiti with unlimited uses during the Major.

Royalties for Teams - Performance-Based

The Royalties that Teams get out of the Event are now entirely performance based! 50% of the revenue from the Major Shop and Viewer Pass will, as always, go to organisers, teams, and players. The new twist: the distribution is now performance-based.
  • Until the end of the Major: based on current VRS seeding
  • After the Major: based on final placement
The better a team performs, the higher their share. This will be great for the better teams, but it will most likely come at a cost of smaller teams who do not advance in stages.

FAQ Highlights

  • No more Capsules - many players requested direct purchases, and there were issues with capsules in certain regions.
  • Tokens are non-refundable. Sticker purchases are also final (except for the Price Protection feature).
  • Souvenirs can only be applied to completed matches and participating players.

Conclusion

Valve has clearly listened to community feedback with the Cologne 2026 Major Shop. Direct sticker purchases, a fairer pricing system, and the Souvenir-O-Matic make everything more accessible and less gambling-heavy. This again, most likely to combat the lawsuits that Valve has found themselves in, and to protect themselves from EU law, similar to the X-ray Scanner. The IEM Cologne 2026 Major is shaping up to be one of the most exciting events of the year. Time to stock up on stickers before prices fluctuate too much!
