Second day of play at the BLAST Spring Finals
Today the second matchday of the BLAST Premier Spring 2021 takes place. Besides two other first round duels Evil Geniuses and NiP are already playing for elimination. The matches start at noon European time and will all be broadcasted live.
Game 1: G2 vs. BIG
After great performances in recent weeks, including at the IEM Summer 2021, G2 is the relatively clear favorite in this duel. Even though BIG has been getting back into shape in recent weeks, they have not yet returned to the top of the world. The last direct duel between the two teams was some time ago and took place at the IEM Katowice in February. At that time, the German top team won relatively clearly against G2.
Game 2: NAVI vs. FaZe
The afternoon game is an extremely interesting one. While NAVI has been among the absolute world best for months, FaZe Clan is currently in an almost historic crisis and brought olofmeister back into the active lineup shortly before the start of the tournament to replace coldzera. Anything other than a clear victory on the part of NAVI would be a big surprise, but that is exactly what makes this match so exciting. Game 3: Evil Geniuses vs. NiP
The two losers of yesterday's first matchday will play for elimination today. Even if the odds between Evil Geniuses and NiP clearly favor the Swedish team, the North Americans have no reason to hide. They delivered a great performance in yesterday's match against Gambit and thus the number 1 in the world rankings and are getting better and better in form.
