Nine teams have already been eliminated from DreamHack Masters. Today Vitality and FURIA will play for the last playoffs spot, while Gambit and NAVI, as well as Astralis and Heroic are already qualified for the playoffs and will only play for seeding. The two winners of the duels will enter the semifinals of the single-elimination bracket. Overall, 16 teams participated in the DreamHack Masters and the total prize money is around 250,000 USD.
Game 1: Vitality vs. FURIA
Both teams achieved surprisingly clear victories against BIG and Complexity in the lower-bracket yesterday. While the loser of this duel will be eliminated from the tournament, the winner will face the defeated team between Gambit and Natus Vincere. Vitality is finding better and better form with their new fifth Kyojin, while FURIA has put the disappointment of the past few games behind them, winning the last four maps against paiN and Complexity. As so often for Vitality, ZywOo will probably be the key factor, who individually plays an enormously strong tournament.
Game 2: Gambit vs. NAVI
The duel between the two CIS top teams will decide one of the four semifinalists, while the loser will advance to the quarterfinals. The last direct duel between the two teams was at the ESL Pro League Season 13 about 1 1/2 months ago. Since then, Gambit developed into the current best team in the world and won the clash back then as well. Between Gambit and NAVI, the odds favor the team around star player sh1ro.
Game 3: Astralis vs. Heroic
Another absolute top duel will be offered to the spectators in the evening match. With Astralis and Heroic the two Danish lineups among the world's best will meet. Heroic lost only one game against Gambit after the new signings of refrezh and sjuush and is therefore one of the best teams in the world at the moment. Astralis found surprisingly well back on the server after the departure of dev1ce and won their first two duels against Extra Salt and Complexity. The spectators can expect an exciting game, in which Heroic is slightly favored.
