Great uncertainties on the second match day
After yesterday's victory of DBL PONEY, the first big surprise took place. Game 1: BIG vs. Complexity
The two top teams of last year are currently in a bit of a form crisis. While the ESL Pro League ended disastrously for BIG and the team only finished in 21st-24th place, they showed some solid performances at FunSpark ULTI, but were unable to continue them at DreamHack Masters 2021 and were eliminated after just three games. Complexity has had consistent finishes so far, but was also defeated early and significantly at DreamHack Masters Spring last week. Between BIG and Complexity, the odds don't really make a favorite and rightly so. Two teams with enormous potential but currently having difficulties to bring this to the server. Both teams could decide this duel for themselves.
Game 2: fnatic vs. mousesports
The two big problem childs of the new year. While flusha was kicked out of the fnatic lineup, karrigan left mousesports. Both teams currently have big form problems and have not yet found the way back to the top of the world. Fnatic recently played in some tier-2 events, but could not prevail against rising teams like EPG Family. In the ESL Pro League, the Swedes won only one of five matches. The other four duels fnatic lost each to zero. Mousesports showed up at the end of April with wins against some tier-2 teams and Complexity at the Flashpoint 3 Qualifier and won the event. However, the DreamHack Masters ended early after a relatively clear defeat against G2. In the duel between fnatic and mousesports, the odds clearly assign the favorite role to mouz. The team around IGL degster recently showed improvements and also won the last duel between the two teams. For fnatic, it will take a significant improvement in form at Flashpoint to avoid an early exit from the event.
