Debut of dev1ce at NiP
Except for the big slip-up on the part of Vitality, so far in the first round of the Flashpoint mostly the favorites could prevail. The quarterfinals continue next Wednesday, while already Saturday and Sunday the first elimination matches in the lower-bracket take place. Today, however, will be the last day of the group matches and the debut of dev1ce at NiP, which the whole CS:GO community is eagerly waiting for.
Game 1: NiP vs. Anonymo
About three weeks have passed at NiP since the signing of dev1ce, during which the Swedish top team did not play any official matches. The Danish superstar played at Astralis since 2016 and is one of, if not the most successful player of all time. All in all, NiP showed good performances in the new year even before the signing of the Dane and reached third place at the ESL Pro League, for example. Anonymo is a Polish Tier-2 team that made it to the event with a third place in the Closed Qualifier, but all in all should have no chance of winning. The qualification was already a great success and quite surprising. The most famous player of the team is Snax, who CS:GO fans got to know and love through his time at Virtus.Pro.
Game 2: FunPlus Phoenix vs. HYENAS
In the evening game we will see another debut. The newly formed Danish lineup "HYENAS" consisting of cajunb, aizy, Kjaerbye, gade and b0RUP will play their first official game in the opening round of Flashpoint. FunPlus Phoenix signed emi as their new IGL about a month ago and have been undefeated since. At the IEM Summer 2021 Closed Qualifier, the team surprisingly defeated BIG and G2 to qualify with confidence. Between FPX and HYENAS, the odds very clearly favor the team around IGL emi. However, the Danish lineup also looks promising and can perhaps provide a small surprise.
