Biography

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund was born on 29.05.1990 in Sweden and got into "professional" Counter-Strike in 2007. After 14 years as an active player, he announced his retirement on 01/16/2021. GeT_RiGhT's career has always been characterized by hard work and pure emotion. He was a role model of an athlete and worked harder than anyone around him. His will to win was continuous, he always wanted to see his team leave the server as the winner and was ready to give everything for it.

On and off the server Christopher is a fair sportsman and was appreciated a lot by his colleagues. After the announcement to retire from his active career, farewell messages from all over the world flooded numerous social media. GeT_RiGhT left his mark on the community and made the game what it is today.

Even in his early years and before the release of CS:GO, Christopher decided to dedicate his life to the strategy shooter without big prize money, salaries or sponsorships as we know them today. He always gave everything to his big passion and was driven by his hunger to win. Even when CS:GO was released in 2012, GeT_RiGhT decided not to quit like many of his colleagues at the time, but started working even harder on himself. He fought his way to the top of the world again and won major tournaments in both games.

Counter-Strike - Career

GeT_RiGhT started his career early. In 2007 he already took part in the S-Tier tournament "ESWC" with team Begrip Gaming and finished it on the 33-40th place. Already a little later Christopher was signed by the Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas, short NiP . However, this engagement was not of long duration. After just two tournaments played with GeT_RiGhT, the organization decided to quit Counter-Strike and Christopher had a hard time finding a suitable team for a long time.

After numerous organization changes Christopher signed on 19.01.2009 with fnatic . At that time he already played together with f0rest, with whom he had many great years to come. In total, he played about two years with the Swedish organization and already won numerous S-Tier tournaments during this time.

With Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg by his side, he moved to SK Gaming at the end of 2010. The German organization had a Swedish team under contract at that time, which Christopher also belonged to for about 1 1/2 years, before he switched to NiP after CS:GO was released.

"You're a human being, it's not normal to never lose." ~GeT_RiGhT

CS:GO - Career

Unlike most CS:GO players, the initial years in the new version of the game were not marked by numerous organizational changes. GeT_RiGhT, along with f0rest, friberg, Fifflaren and Xizt, was signed on Aug. 10, 2012, and would go on to define the CS:GO scene with his teammates at NiP for many years to come. While the lineup changed slightly several times over the years there were two constant factors that always remained true to the Ninjas.

In total, GeT_RiGhT and f0rest spent around seven years together with the Swedish organization, playing in countless major tournaments, big events and finals. Christopher's role over the years was always that of the lurker. He shaped that position within the team like no other. In an interview upon signing with Dignitas , he defined lurking as the ability to find gaps in an opponent's defense without taking big risks.

A great era came to an end in 2019. After a lack of success, GeT_RiGhT stepped down from the active lineup at NiP , but was signed by Dignitas about four months later along with f0rest, Xizt, friberg and hallzerk. After the organization announced their retirement from CS:GO at the end of 2018, they re-entered CS:GO with the signing of a lineup largely reminiscent of the old NiP team. However, the project unfortunately did not work out as planned. In further consequence Christopher and Xizt got benched on 16.09.2020.

While GeT_RiGhT was inactive for about four months and thought about continuing his career in Valorant, he eventually decided to end his active gaming career and announced this on 01/16/2021. From now on he will continue working for Dignitas as a streamer and content creator.

Partner in crime - f0rest

Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg had a very special role in Christopher's career. From the time he joined fnatic in 2009 until his departure in 2019, the two Swedes were teammates and became friends. In numbers, they have been playing along each other for 3902 days straight. That´s more than a decade. He even dedicated his official farewell tweet to his longtime friend and colleague.

With the words "Patrik @f0rest linberg - I'm thankful for the bottom of my heart of "selecting" me to be your "partner in crime"" he thanked Patrik for the time they spent together.

Successes

GeT_RiGhT took part in his first S-Tier event in 2007. A total of 124 more followed in an overall incredible career. His first CS:GO Major event was DreamHack Winter 2013, where he participated with NiP. In total, Christopher played in 12 Majors and won one. At ESL One: Cologne 2014, he and his team crowned themselves as the Major winners in the final match with fnatic . Also worth mentioning are four second places at the Major tournaments of DreamHack Winter 2013, Katowice 2014, DreamHack Winter 2014 and ESL One: Katowice 2015.

A very special success was the victory at the DreamHack Masters Malmö, where he claimed the triumph together with NiP in front of a Swedish audience. Other notable tournament successes were at the StarLadder i-League Series Season 2 and the IEM Oakland tournaments in 2016 & 2017.

In addition to the countless team successes, Christopher has also been able to celebrate major awards on an individual level. For example, the Swede was named the best player of the year by HLTV in 2013 and 2014. In total, he was represented in the HLTV Top-20 ranking six times. All in all, GeT_RiGhT finished ten tournaments as MVP and thus best player.
