Xizt - Farewell

The Swedish mastermind

Whereas younger viewers know Richard "Xizt" Landström mainly from his time with fnatic and Dignitas, the currently 30-year-old Swede is the epitome of a legendary era at NiP for many long-time fans. Richard was active with the Swedish top team as an IGL between 2012-2018 and was able to win a Major in addition to numerous S-Tier successes.

Biography

Xizt, whose full name is Richard Landström, was born on 22.02.1991 and is a native of Sweden. He started his career back in 2008, well before the release of CS:GO. His breakthrough came during his time at fnatic in 2011 and 2012, when he played at the top of the world in Counter Strike 1.6. His later long-term teammate GeT_RiGhT convinced him to switch to CS:GO. The rest is history!

Achievements

In total, Xizt participated in 107 S-Tier events during his active career and won 20 of them. Richard reached the finals in another 17 S-Tier events, including four Majors (DreamHack Winter 2013, ESL Katowice 2014, DreamHack Winter 2014 and ESL Katowice 2015), where he and his team were defeated twice by fnatic and once each by Virtus.Pro and LDLC. In the midst of these four bitter defeats, however, one of the greatest highlights in the Swedish star player's career took place.

n 17.08.2014 at around seven o'clock European time, NiP under IGL Xizt secured the ESL One: Cologne 2014 Major Event with a thrilling 16:13 victory on the decisive map Inferno against fnatic. All in all, Richard was part of around 290 Counter Strike events as a player. Unbelievable!

Notable achievements

In addition to his aforementioned team successes, Xizt made the HLTV Top 20 Player of the Year ranking three times, which is an incredible achievement for an IGL. His best finish was sixth in 2013. In addition, Richard was part of the most legendary winning streak of all time. Together with his teammates at NiP, the Swede was at one point undefeated for 87 maps straight. Together with GeT_RiGhT and f0rest, Xizt played a big part in the still ongoing success of the Swedish scene. The trio played side by side for about 5 1/2 years and wrote Counter Strike history.
