On the third day of DreamHack Masters Spring, three duels will take place, in which all the losers will be eliminated from the event. While with Gambit, NAVI, Astralis and Heroic already four teams qualified for the playoffs, 6 lineups are already eliminated. The total prize money is 250.000 USD.
Game 1: Vitality vs. BIG
While Vitality won 2-1 against Extra Salt after a defeat on the first match day, BIG lost the second duel after the opening win against FURIA. Heroic was too strong for the German top team yesterday. While Vitality had big form problems in the last weeks, BIG found back to old strength at FunSpark ULTI and won the event. Vitality plays with Kyojin for the first time after the ejection of RpK at the DreamHack Masters. The young Frenchman quickly found his way into the team, but has not yet been able to fully convince. ZywOo was the diffrence maker for Vitality against Extra Salt. Against BIG, the odds favor the Frenchman.
Game 2: FURIA vs. Complexity
FURIA could end the negative series of six lost maps in a row today. With a win against paiN, the team remains in the tournament for the time being and will play tomorrow against Complexity for a place in the lower-final. Given the odds, the team around IGL blameF is the clear favorite and rightly so. In the last games, the European mixed team was much more convincing than FURIA.
Game 3: Virtus.Pro vs. G2
One of the two top teams will advance to the quarterfinals in today's duel, while the loser will be eliminated from the tournament. Virtus.Pro is one of the best teams of the current year and G2 is also getting in better shape after the return of AmaNEk to the active lineup. Only recently G2 managed to qualify for the BLAST Spring Finals, a great success for the lineup. The spectators can expect an exciting match, in which Virtus.Pro is the favorite in view of the odds.
