Second elimination Matches
On the sixth matchday of Flashpoint 3 the next two elimination matches will take place. Already yesterday fnatic and OG were eliminated from the event. The winners of the first lower-bracket round will play against the losers of the upper-quarterfinals on Friday and Saturday. Today Sprout will play FaZe and NiP will play HYENAS.
Game 1: Sprout vs. FaZe
The German Tier-2 team was able to secure victories against NLG and Unicorns of Love at the ESL Championship yesterday and thus won the event. On the international level, however, things are not really looking good for Sprout right now. The team lost six games in a row and most of them with 0:2. In the first game of Flashpoint they also had a relatively clear defeat against an overpowered Heroic. Between Sprout and FaZe, the odds clearly put the German team in the underdog role. However, FaZe Clan did not convince in the last events either and was eliminated early at DreamHack Masters about two weeks ago. The team around IGL karrigan also lost the first game in the current event against G2. Nevertheless, FaZe is the clear favorite for the match with Sprout.
Game 2: NiP vs. HYENAS
Also in the second match of today there is a clear favorite. NiP, who surprisingly lost against Anonymo on the first matchday, are already playing for elimination today. A defeat on today's match day would be a big damper for NiP around new signing dev1ce at their debut event. HYENAS is a new Danish team consisting of Kjaerbye, aizy, gade, b0RUP and Fessor. In their opening match, the team lost relatively clearly to FunPlus Phoenix and thus did not start well in the event. Between NiP and HYENAS, the odds clearly give the Swedes the favorite role and rightly so.
