The currently 26-years old American was part of Team Liquid starting from 2015 and grew together with the organisation until 2020 when he decided to retire as a professional CS:GO player and continue playing for 100 Thieves in their VALORANT division.
After around 1 1/2 years as a VALORANT player, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella decided to re-sign with Team Liquid and join their CS:GO roster heading into the 2022 season! Career Recap
nitr0 has been a fixture for Team Liquid for nearly all his career. But let´s start at the beginning: he played his first C and B-Tier events in mid 2014 and made it to the DreamHack Winter 2014 Major together with iBUYPOWER only a few months after his first appearance. Concluding 2014, he grouped up with NAF, daps, adreN and FugLy at Denial eSports. The lineup transferred to Team Liquid three events and two months later. A life changing story should then begin for nitr0.
A total of 113 events! (qualifiers excluded) and 5 1/2 years in the active roster followed! He took part in 75 S-Tier events and eight Majors together with the legendary North-American/Dutch organisation. Next to eight S-Tier event wins, he was also close to winning the Majors in ESL One: Cologne 2016 where Team Liquid reached the Grand Final and Columbus 2016 as well as London 2018, where he placed 3-4th in both. After collecting more experience in another esport title, he is back as the In-Game Leader of the 2022 CS:GO lineup and will try to claim the one thing he wasn´t able to in the first run: A Major title!
Conclusion
Nitr0 seems to be the perfect addition. With his deep bondage to the organisation and great connection to everyone in the team, he will take over the role as an experienced leader and guide the new lineup to victory! I am nothing short than excited for the two new top lineups in the NA region and expect to see great tournament results in 2022!
