Emil "Magisk" Reif was born on 05.05.1998 in Denmark and has been part of the legendary line-up of Astralis since 2018. Despite his very young age, Emil has already won everything. In 2015 and thus at the age of 18, the Dane started his career. His great talent soon became visible and already 1 ½ years later Magisk won his first big tournament.

His nickname "Magisk" is Danish and means magical in English. His role in the team is Rifler, specialised in lurking. While he has never really actively used his Facebook page, he posts everything about his everyday CS:GO-life on Twitter and shares his private life on Instagram. He has a particularly close relationship with his sister Julie.

magisk - Career

Emil started his career in 2015 at the team stfuNerd. His first notable organisation was SK Gaming, which he joined as a stand-in at the end of 2015 and was later signed as a permanent member. At that time he played together with AcilioN, Friis, MODDII and Pimp. Back then, Emil still used the name Magiskb0Y.

While most of the line-up moved to "Team X" at that time, Magisk decided to join Team Dignitas and replaced tenzki at that time. About seven months later, the Swedish organisation dismissed the lineup and decided to build a team in North America.

The entire lineup then transferred to the newly formed team North. The well-known football club F.C. Copenhagen decided to enter Counter-Strike and founded the team together with Nordisk Film. Magisk was bought out of its contract by OpTic Gaming after half a year.

At that time, the American organisation decided to sign a new European lineup. Emil joined the team alongside friberg and allu at the time, but was signed by Astralis after a great year and seventh place in the 2018 HLTV Ranking. The big breakthrough for Emil.

magisk - Achievements

Emil achieved pretty much everything possible over the course of six years. He took part in a total of five major tournaments and won three of them together with Astralis . The first success with Magisk was at the FACEIT Major: London 2018, followed by victories at the Intel Extreme Masters XIII - Katowice and the StarLadder Berlin. Thus, Astralis has now been the defending title holder and undefeated Major Champion for around 2 ½ years.

His first S-Tier success already happened some time ago. Together with Dignitas he won the EPICENTER at the end of 2016. His first individual award also followed this year. Continuously Magisk improved in 2016, 2018 and 2019 in the HLTV "best player" ranking at the end of the year. Furthermore, Emil was awarded MVP of the tournament at the 2018 BLAST Pro Series and the 2019 IEM Katowice Major. His total tournament winnings are estimated at around USD 1.4 million.
